Salaar Director Reveals If Prabhas Starrer Has a Connection To Yash's KGF: 'It Was My Mistake...'
Previously, in an exclusive conversation with News18, Prithviraj also said that all comparisons would be put to rest once Salaar hits the screens.

For a long time now, everyone has been wondering if Prabhas starrer Salaar has a connection to Yash’s blockbuster movie KGF. However, director Prashanth Neel has finally clarified that the two films are not related to one another. Recently, trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan took to his X handle and shared a video of Prashanth from an interview in which he made it clear that there is no connection between Salaar and KGF.

“People started comparing it to the tone I had set in KGF. They started drawing some theories. I think this came a long time before the teaser came out or a couple of years back. They said, ‘This must be from the universe of KGF’. It was my mistake that I did not come out and say it loud enough. There is no part of Salaar that has a connection with KGF,” the director said.

Previously, in an exclusive conversation with News18, Prithviraj said that all comparisons would be put to rest once Salaar hits the screens. “I understand the comparisons that are happening between Salaar and KGF-2. I am a big Prashant Neel fan and I would have been disappointed had I seen his next film after KGF-2, which opens in a tulip field in Amsterdam. It is not something that I expect from him. It is too premature for the audience because 10 minutes into Salaar people will forget all the comparisons. Salaar is much bigger and grander than KGF-2. The scale of the film is so huge that it can even dwarf KGF-2,” he told us.

It was also being said that KGF’s Yash might make a special appearance in Prabhas’ much-awaited movie. However, producer Vijay Kiragandur recently revealed that Yash does not have a cameo in Salaar. “I think [director] Prashanth has clarified already that there is no link [between KGF and Salaar]. There’s no cameo in the movie. So that is not true,” Vijay told India Today.

Hombale Films’ Salaar: Part 1: Ceasefire stars Prabhas along with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu in key roles. Made under the direction of Prashanth Neel, the film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur. Salaar has a duration of 2 hours and 55 minutes and was given an ‘A’ certificate by the censor board. The movie has several bloody combat scenes, violence, and battle scenes.

Salaar will be released in theatres on December 22, 2023.
