India Bike Week 2023: All New Aprilia RS 457 Launched In India, Price Starts At Rs 4.10 Lakh
The Aprilia RS 457 is a fully faired motorcycle with clip-on handlebars up front, a short tail section, an underbelly exhaust and dual LED headlamps.

Piaggio India has officially revealed the Aprilia RS 457 during India Bike Week 2023, ending a long period of anticipation.

Exclusively available at Aprilia’s Motoplex dealerships, the motorcycle comes with a price tag of Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

Reservations for the bike will commence on December 15, requiring a token payment of Rs 10,000, with deliveries scheduled to commence in March 2024. The Aprilia RS 457 will face competition from rivals such as the upcoming Yamaha R3, KTM RC 390, and the Kawasaki Ninja 400.

Manufactured at Piaggio’s Baramati plant in India, the Aprilia RS 457 stands out as a product designed and developed in Italy. Despite its premium status in the market, its pricing is relatively higher compared to some competitors.

The motorcycle boasts features characteristic of a true sports bike, including full fairing, clip-ons, and rear-set footpegs, giving it a premium appearance and feel. Inspired by Aprilia’s rich racing heritage, the bike is engineered to deliver an impressive performance, reflecting the brand’s distinct motorbike culture.

The All New Aprilia RS 457: Design And Features

The RS 457’s twin LED headlamps with LED DRLs, sporty-looking fairing, and curved, small windscreen are all design cues shared by its older siblings, the RS 660 and even the RSV4 1100. The liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine of the baby Aprilia is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and has a maximum power output of 47 horsepower.

The motorcycle has 17-inch wheels with section tyres measuring 110/70 in the front and 150/60 in the rear. The RS 457 from Aprilia features a five-inch TFT colour instrument cluster, three riding modes, three traction control modes, and an optional quick-shifter. A preload adjustable mono-shock with 130 mm of travel at the back and a 41 mm USD front fork with 120 mm of travel handle suspension duties.

The brake system is made up of a 220 mm disc brake at the back with a ByBre calliper and a 320 mm front disc with a ByBre radial-mount 4-piston calliper. Additionally, the motorcycle has a dual-channel ABS system that can be switched on the back wheel. The dry weight of the RS 457 is 159 kg, but with fuel and other liquids, that weight increases to 175 kg.

Aprilia’s 457 cc liquid-cooled, DOHC parallel-twin engine produces 47 bhp and 46 Nm of peak torque. It has a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is supported by a twin-spar aluminium frame that is suspended in the front by up-side-down forks and in the rear by a mono-shock. A disc brake is used in both the front and rear. There is also a dual-channel anti-lock braking system.
