Karnataka batter Prakhar Chaturvedi scripted history by becoming the first player to hit 400 runs in the final of the Cooch Behar Trophy. The young batter smashed an unbeaten 404 runs against Mumbai to achieve the massive milestone. The opening batter faced 638 balls and hit 46 fours and three sixes during his marathon knock.

Chaturvedi’s historic knock helped Karnataka post a mammoth 890/8 decl on the scoreboard as they claimed a massive 510-run lead in the first innings over Mumbai (380).
Chaturvedi resumed his innings on Monday from his overnight score of 256 not out and he batted with the same intensity and concentration to achieve the massive milestone.
Meanwhile, legendary India cricketer and current head coach Rahul Dravid’s son Samit Dravid also played for Karnataka in the match but he failed to make a big impact and was dismissed for 22 runs off 46 balls.
Apart from Chaturvedi, another batter who impressed for Karnataka was Harshil Dharmani as he scored a stellar 169 runs off 228 balls, laced with 19 fours and five sixes. Chaturvedi and Dharmani stitched a stellar 290-run partnership off 411 balls.
Karthikeya K P (72), Hardik Raj (51) and Samarth N (55*) also scored half-centuries for Karnataka to provide solid support to Chaturvedi.
Prem Devkar was the pick of the bowlers for Mumbai as he claimed three scalps, while Manan Bhatt and Nutan shared 2 wickets each. However, they failed miserably to stop Chaturvedi from scripting history in the Cooch Behar Trophy final.
